"X Forged Project 6.0; 3-PW. I have played maybe 20 rounds and practiced extensively with my new clubs. I demo-ed the Mizuno MP57s, (great club!) before buying the Callaways. All I can say is they will make you throw rocks at Grandma! I have picked up 10 yards from my old Pings on the scoring irons and 30 yards on the distance irons. A PW 145 yds? How about hitting 3 iron 240-250? No joke, I hit my 3 iron off the tee way more often on par 4s than driver or 3 wood. It is also easy to work the ball while maintaining distance control, (even longer with a draw). If you miss hit, (as I do) you only lose 10 yds, but not direction. Heck, I even love cleaning these most beautiful clubs after a round or a work out on the range. You hear a lot about forgiveness with these clubs, and it is all true. I am a 9 handicap, and I was a bit intimidated about going to a cut muscle type/bladed profile club, but fear not! They are much easier to hit than you think. Go demo a set and you will see. This is a TERRIFIC set of irons and more forgiving than the Mizuno's in my opinion. The Project X flighted shafts really are key, as the long irons fly higher due to the lower kick point built in by Rifle. The X Forged heads progressively raise the perimeter weighting, for a higher center of gravity and the kick point in the shafts raise likewise to help for a bit lower flight on the scoring irons and a mid flight on the longer irons progressively. AWESOME combo!"

""Having owned a set of X18's for several years now, I had often wondered if I was good enough on a handicap of 17 to try the forged irons as there were suggestions that they are not suited to higher handicappers. As I did not see the point in upgrading from the X18's to the X20's the obvious solution was to try the x-forged.

After taking a leap of faith a month ago, I must admit that the x-forged feels very much like the X18's but with a much nicer/softer feel when struck in the sweet spot (a feeling that cant quite be described and has to be felt first hand to be truly appreciated). Needless to say, when not struck in the sweet spot, your fingers will be the first to scream for mercy on a cold crisp morning.

Overall I found the distances to be similar to my X18's despite suggestions that the x-forged were hitting longer but I suppose its one of those case by case things depending on club setup.

Accuracy was as good as my very average swing, but the x-forged were definitely more forgiving than what I was led to believe from reviews. If there are any other players out there thinking they're not good enough to move onto forged irons, this is a very good one to try out for the transition. It will provide ample foregiveness as well as letting some of the higher handicappers appreciate and get addicted to the feel of a crisply struck forged iron.

I cant speak on behalf of the other forged irons out there in the market, but if there are any golfers out there thinking about trying out forged irons but have been put off by the perception that these types of irons are only suited to the pro players out there, the x-forged is definitely worth a try."
